Keeping Mum Workshop
(4 April 2011)

What a fabulous day to kick off our Workshop Calendar for 2011.

Our 'Keeping Mum' Workshop had 30 ladies join us for the day and, what a day it was - the pace was 'wicked', the projects extensive, not to mention beautiful and so many new techniques to try out.

This is a picture of Miss Lisa demonstrating using distress inks on resist pages - gotta love that Pink Paislee Anthology Collection.

This was quickly followed by another layout with weaving and quilled Cuttlebug die cut flowers.

We then jumped into a beautiful Mum's Day card with the lovely Cassie McCumstie  - how nice to already have a hand made card ready to go and it is isn't even May... nothing like being ahead of the game!

And then it was a race to 4:30 to get as much of our off the page project done with Lizzie - a beautiful album made out of all things repurposed entitled 'Letters from the Heart'.

The day was finished with everyone totally exhausted from creating and signing up for the next workshop on 1 May 2011 - All Things Cardstock.

Our gorgeous ladies went away with a bonus 'kit' to 'tizzy' up there Kit Bags ready to use for that special Mum's Day gift - look what Miss Lisa did as the sample - a real favourite being so 'shabby chic'.

What is old is new again Workshop
(7 November 2010)

On 7 November we hosted the last Workshop in our 2010 Calendar.  It was a great day spent with the lovely ladies we have gotten to know throughout our first 6 months of business - thank you all for the continued support and we look forward to you all joining us again in 2011.

For this Workshop we had two samples that showcased the techniques we were introducing.

These are the beautiful covers of the albums - Gotta love the stamping and watercolour paints and the fabulous Tim Holtz Birdcage die that had everyone heading for thier Cuttlebugs and BigShots.

Vintage doilies are all the rage at the moment, check out the beautiful one Lizzie sourced at her local Medowie Markets and used on the cover of the sample album... just love the use of those 'coverted' Making Memories Rub-ons (yes we had lots of ladies with these still in their stash).  The use of the negative image of the bird die cut and filled with buttons and micro-beads... a nice touch!

Some sneaky peeks of the inside of our books and the use of the techniques we explored throughout the Workshop - getting back to some of those earlier years when we had less supplies and had to work with main staples like paint, stamps, luggage tags, ribbon, brads, fabric, punches, chipboard and alpha stickers... we had so many participants that had the same stuff in their stash... the reoccurring theme throughout the day was:  'one scrappers stash is another scrappers treasure'.....

Have you caught the Bug? - The Cuttlebug? - Workshop
(17 October 2010)

On 17 October we had a great turnout for our Cuttlebug Workshop and what a day it was.  We had our participants using so many techniques, everyone was very excited with what they found they could do with their 'Bugs' and 'Bigshots'.

Check out the photos below to get a idea of how 'full on' this Workshop was - thanks ladies we had a fabulous day and are so pleased with all your positive feedback.... we hope to be back with another one and more ideas for this great tool as part of our 2011 Workshop Calendar.....

Check out the gorgeous kits that were ready and waiting for all our ladies - remember the Embellees Team move to use the kit packaging to 'repurpose' for an 'at home' layout - see this below.

Some samples of our 'bonus Workshop Kit layout' and the canvas layouts finished at the Workshop... Miss Lisa did an outstanding job bringing these beauties together.

This gorgeous canvas has so many of the techniques we tried on the day - dry embossing, smooshing (inking folders) - check out the transparency embossed with white ink (tape measure edge embosser), using lots of die cuts from Stampin Up, Spellbinders, Sizzix and Tim Holtz... don't forget to mix this all up with different textures and textiles for a great finished product.

Here is the pic of our bonus layout... just for the lovely ladies who attended and are keen to complete theirs using their kit packaging....

Workshop #1 for 2010
Let's Get Misting
(Courtesy of Jenerations Photography)

Here are a selection of photos taken at our Let's Get Misting Workshop in July 2010.  Everything from our beautiful kits ready to go... even the packaging was re purposed and used on an additional layout to celebrate the day.

This picture captures the lovely ladies who participated.  Don't you just love those girls from Scrap-aholics ... they looked so great in their matching tees and aprons...

This picture shows the setup of our workstations.  The Edgeworth Bowling Club gives us great space, this means that you aren't crowded at your table, we try to keep in mind that us 'scrappers' like to bring lots of stuff and spread out.

Lizzie hates having her photo taken, but who could resist seeing the colour of her hands.  Never one to wear gloves - likes to get down and dirty with Glimmer Mist and Inks...
